A New Visual and Digital Brand Experience for a Bucks County Hidden Gem.
Once a 19th-century prison, the James A. Michener Art Museum has transformed into a cornerstone of the Delaware River Valley arts scene. Their team wanted a rebrand that captured Michener’s history and deep local roots, but also their evolution. With a refined design system and an intentional web experience, this new identity elevates Michener’s role as a cultural leader, locally and beyond.

Design // Art Direction
Working as the sole Designer in a duo with a Creative Director in a small studio, I had the privilege of being hands-on involved in every step of the process from initial mood explorations and logo concepts to the execution of final brand touch points and guidelines. Additionally, I collaborated with our freelance web designer & developer to art direct the website redesign.

Inspired by the archways woven into Michener’s architecture and collections, the multi-arch ‘M’ icon reflects its history while embodying progress—a doorway to what’s next.

a digital overhaul
After establishing Michener’s visual identity, we entirely restructured and redesigned their previously outdated website. A new site map & architecture, more intentional content, and their new branding brought their digital presence to life.
